Could Baron not have killed Julie? Did Detective Smith put him up to this? But why? What pushed Smith so much that he would have killed Julie? 

I thought long and hard about this question. Put up a whiteboard, write notes, research, trying to connect all the dots. I was up night and day, only taking power naps when needed. There wasn’t anything else to do. I needed the truth NOW.
