My heart dropped, and all I could do was cry. But I needed to turn this into the police. The real police. Not that psycho, Smith. I drove as fast as I could to the police station, calling them on the way. But as I got out of the car, Detective Smith pulled me into a dark alleyway. He was watching me outside of my house, he said. He knew that I figured it out and that he would make sure that it didn’t reach anyone else. As he was about to pull the trigger, I closed my eyes. And I heard the words, “Stop right there, Smith. Hands behind your head and knees on the ground!” I opened my eyes and saw the police. I forgot that I called them on the way here! My subconscious self saved my life!
